Verizon: Give Me FiOS or Lower My Bill, Please.
My inability to subscribe to Fiber Optic Service (FiOS) has been a gripe of mine since I’ve moved to Northern Virginia. Verizon being the primary source of this awesomeness, I once was jealous of the D.C.’s area because of the saturation (or monopoly) of Verizon.
Why do I want FiOS? I want better quality internet, IPTV and telephone over this blazing fast technology. While we’ve only heard about FiOS’s greatness in third person — it only leaves me puzzled as to why Verizon isn’t aggressively marketing or expanding this technology?
So instead, I live with 3Mb interleaved DSL, which has a variable ping, and poor upload capacity. I continue to spend about about $50 a month on this service. No one in their right mind would spread their posterior wide enough for Comcast’s $100 “bundle,” which effectively makes their customers pay $100 monthly for TV, Internet, and Phone service.
If Verizon wants a winning chance at competing against cable companies; they must adopt new technology, and provide customers the option to migrate to FiOS aggresively. Here’s an idea — IPTV, Internet, and VoIP for $75. Now you have a hot deal for 25% less than Comcast.
So, until I receive my FiOS service, that I’m willing to pay more for, please lower my bill for my inferior internet service.
Thank You.
