TechnoratiI discovered that Technorati updated their front page among other offerings. TechCrunch has a pretty thorough review of the changes.

Over time, I’ve inadvertently stumbled onto Technorati Web pages when Googling around, resulting in a very rapid click of the “back” button to find the information I need. Often, these pages carried a minimal offering of content, usually one or two sites — mostly Splogs.

Changes on their site reflect their revised focus: bloggers, then users. The audience of Technorati shifted from primarily bloggers to traditional Internet users, which is understandable. If they give bloggers a little more spotlight, then the bloggers can see more value in Technorati, and thus authoring more relevant content for them to recirculate. It’s a win-win-win for users, bloggers and of course — Technorati.

They’ve got hot content and brought attention on the front page to it. This is one example of Technorati adapting to their users and providing great features. Kudos to them!

On a different note, I’ve programmed the tags on my blog and I updated the layout (again). If you didn’t know, WordPress 2.3 now offers tagging natively with no additional plugins. Adding tags is easy. What’s not so easy: adding tags to all your former blog entries.
