In the open-source world, one of the champions, OpenOffice, has been updated to 3.0. OpenOffice has been improved to be more user-friendly and now runs natively runs on the Mac, which means it’s faster.

Type sc stop wuauserv.
Press Enter.
Live in peace without that Automatic Updates pop-up.

I always wished for the option of “Do not remind me for 8 hours” in the constant “Automatic Updates” reminder. Yeah, yeah, I know I need to be more responsive to the Windows Update process but it’s just so futile. Oh, how I drown in my hatred for Windows.
