I’ve finally posted my last blog entry on my employer’s blog. I’ll be leaving the company tomorrow. I just wanted to thank everyone that supported (and challenged) me along the way. I look forward to carving a new path for myself.
This decision was one made outside of my control, and I will truly miss my time at AOL. That is, all the customers, the workers and the technology.
Thanks,
Joe

Good luck to you….as we all watch AOL screw up yet another decent thing they were lucky enough to have stumbled onto.
I hope you make a nice living, Joe, and have a good and fulfilling life.

You can do much better than working for AOL. And you could give me a clue as to how I can gain access to an account I had with AOL for TEN YEARS until I was booted off for calling republicans liars, which is actually redundant.

I’m not surprised….the writing was on the cyberwall for quite some time. I read in Nancie’s blog that she was going to have a lot of spare time soon, so she must be getting canned, also?
You’re young; this is just a blip on your resume.
NOOO! these layoffs are breaking apart the whole community.
Hey Joe—nice talking to you today
You now have the world at your fingertips ya know. You are free to pick and choose now. But! I’m sorry you are leaving AOL. I’m gonna miss you in the Social Media Blog. But, since you have your own blog, that’s gonna keep me aware of what new roads you will be taking:) That’s all for this time Franki
So sorry to hear they let you go also….I was host for AOL for 7 years and seen so many changes. Best of luck and you will be missed.

Joseph, of all who passed through the thankless corridors of AOL, you were the most real and supportive person that many of us had ever dealt with. I don’t know if it feels like it now, but they did you a favor. I predict that within six months you will be in a position that you enjoy more, will more fully make use of all the talents you offer and where you will be more fully appreciated.
I will watch with interest as you make your next move. My very best wishes to you buddy.
[Edited. Topics relating to my former group at AOL are not up for discussion on this blog. Response sent via e-mail.]
Just a note to say Thank You for your efforts on our (the users) behalf. I have a feeling that you will be successful in whatever you choose to do. Too bad that “the company” continues to spray buckshot at itself, it’s users, and it’s employees.
Congrats on making your escape! Let me know where you end up next. It’s a small world.
Thank you for your kind words, Dossy, Jody, Corp, Betty, Franki, Mike, SMCH2315, and Brenda. I’m still getting a feel for other possibilities, but will let you know if anything pans out.

So… do you have any idea who I would talk to about getting my account re-activated? The TOS was truly unwarranted. How about E-mailing me the phone number or E-mail address of a reasonable person left at AOL.
