Idea to get back at Spyware/Malware Companies
Recently, my mom’s computer got infected with CoolWebSearch adware. The reason I use “infected” because they (spyware companies) literally try to install their junk on the system much like how a trojan or a virus does. This is getting even more annoying than ever before. If you dont know what I’m talking about, download Spybot Search & Destroy 1.3, AdAware 6.0 181, and HijackThis 1.97. Install these, check for updates and download them. Then scan your system.
Anyways… back to my plan. I dont want to create a worm or a type of virus that attacks those companies, but a regular program people run, to “hit” those sites. Thousands of times per hour. With the innovation of broadband and the amount of people with it, we could kill those companies servers. Also, stress their databases by just crawling the site, constantly requesting data. If 1000 people run this type of program, and let it do its thing, a lot of these sites could disappear (meaning they would buy a new domain)… essentially hurting them more. There could be a variety of options - to just hit the site like normal, to crawl the site, to send search strings to the site, and to just ICMP ping the site. It would also, periodically check for an “update” file which tells the program what sites to hit, and the priority to hit it.
This can work, but it would require further help for me to make it complete.
