To my mind, avast has the most user-friendly interface out of all free antivirus programs I know of, and its updates come absolutely silent. Some PC users insist that it has a poor detection rate, but AV comparatives lists avast! over Norton, so there must be a sound reason behind that. Since version 4.8 avast! claims to have anti-spyware protection included as well. I personally know a home user who switched from ESET (paid) to avast! (free), and not because NOD's subscription expired.

Attn.: Customer Service
For several weeks already I'm having a connectivity problem to AOL. Every thime I have to go to the net I loose the connection, and I have to reload it five to six times, at a time!!!
First I get : "Response from the service is delayed: (01-00001), then I get: Error: 72-MCLL and in other caes I get: Error: 46-FACC, and "Rebuilding the AOL adapter? (less than 2 minutes)? In more than 5 years I haven't even touch the phone jack(wall), I replaced my PC system a little over a couple of years ago.
Is there an intelligent way you can stop this missery? I bet you should!

You're right about that. Norton really is bad software and it REALLY slows down your PC. I recommend avast! Home, a free virus scanner. Now I know what you are going to say: "Free stuff usually is some bad programmed software with an ugly interface." avast! is not like that. It's a really good antivirus scanner. As firewall, I recommend Sunbelt Kerio Personal Firewall.
