They absolutly hold your pictures for ransom, no cheap ransom either! I don't sign into AOL for anything if I can help it (even if I use AIM chat it's through Digsby, so I sign in through a third-party client, not through an AOL app) so I had no idea until right now that AOL is offering the simple "download" option for pictures hosted by them. Mainly from beta (AOL Spyware Protection, the first builds of Triton, AOL OpenRide, etc). Oh well... not like it's that important. Nice post Joe. I recommend transferring to a Photoworks account. One can then download the original images from there (I believe; I haven't tried it except for a few pictures which seemed to work).
