In short: No. MySpace messages are stored on a separate system than the profile. MySpace staff has the ability to review deleted profiles, audit pictures and research IP addresses. It’s not necessarily to ‘get you’, rather it’s to protect the MySpace users from pedophiles and other creepy people.

If your letter was truly offensive, I suggest writing them an apology informing them you were upset and that you actually do respect MySpace and their support team.

This is caused by a few factors: you are using an insecure password, you are using an infected browser or you may have a virus/rootkit on your computer. I suggest following all the above steps, making certain you have zero viruses on your computer, zero spyware and that you use Firefox.

so i logged back on and instead of clicking the link i went to account settings and changed my password.

went back to home and still! i got the phished message
ive changed my password like 5 times and i still am locked

I suggest to follow all the steps I listed above. Try it again and when you gain access to your profile immediately remove comments promoting free gift cards, free xboxes, free ipods, etc. I suggest also resetting your MySpace theme, as that can host suspect code.

If you read the tips I list above, you will be able to prevent this from happening again. I suggest contacting MySpace and let them know that your account was compromised (which is a fancy term for hacked) and you want to learn how to recover it.

You probably don’t need to contact law enforcement, as most agencies barely understand what MySpace is… so only contact them if you strongly believe there’s been a crime. (Note: Only MySpace can prosecute someone for hacking your account.)
