Just wanted to remind you that you can help set a record and land Mozilla Firefox into the Guinness Book of World Records for the most downloaded software in one day. It’s easy, on 6/17 (Tuesday), head on over to http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/ and download Firefox 3.0.

Here is a copy of the e-mail Mozilla sent to remind users who pledged to upgrade on ‘Download Day’:

Download Day 2008

Don’t forget to be part of Firefox’s Download Day!

Mark your calendar, wrap a ribbon around your finger or write a little sticky yellow note. Download Day will start on June 17, 2008.

Pledge Map

From my experience, Firefox 3 is hands-down the fastest Web Browser compared to Internet Explorer 6 and 7, Safari and even Camino. Definitely upgrade when this gets released.

One note of caution: A number of Firefox 2.x addons (“extensions”) aren’t compatible yet, so you may have do without some addons for a while. Rest assured, StumbleUpon, Adblock Plus and Web Developer work great.

I use Firefox 2.0, but have noticed sometimes I am apparently getting cached content, even after clicking the refresh button. Have you heard of this? Is there a setting somewhere to change? I have IE opened right next to it and it has the latest version of a page.

P.S. Do you have an RSS feed? Thx

I haven’t noticed any caching issues between 2.0 or 3.0. In any case, I suggest clearing private data regularly. If you need to force fresh Web content, just press CTRL+F5.

I have a Feedburner feed available at http://feeds.feedburner.com/Dygiscape. Soon, I’ll re-add my easy subscribe field along the upper right corner.

I think Mozilla nailed it right with 3.0. It’s the best browser I’ve ever used. :)
