First, the definition according to Google, is "Outsourcing is the process of subcontracting operations and support to an organization outside your company.".
So basically, in lay-mans terms, it means screw over your existing workers locally (USA) and hire ones on the opposite hemisphere for about 10% the cost of an American worker. Example, a progammer making $25/hr locally, will be paid in India for about $2.50/hr. IT sucks.
My rhetorical question; Why do companies outsource? Simple - because they dont know better, they cant look more than a few years later. They lose innovation, quality, mastery in their field. Companies are too concerned with saving money and cutting resources. They will become rich and screw their workers simply because they got no soul.
India simply sucks. Everyone dreads speaking to foreigners no matter what the circumstance. It sets an uneven plane. Even with Hispanic [phone] workers, it is tough to understand, but at least they try to adapt to the language and there is a need to speak spanish due to the surge of spanish language speaking citizens here. I've seen programs developed by India, and it is the WORST, messy code you have ever seen. Maybe you have called India before, and couldnt understand. You rarely ever speak asian customer service workers when you call a support number. The Indian women sound asian, and the men there sound just middle-eastern and are very angry sounding. They hate the united states, yet we employ them with thousands of great jobs.
My suggest to make things better. Besides "dumping" India, and creating jobs here for our great citizens... I have this advice. If you do outsource, you should be entering the global market and offer services in India and wherever their language is accepted. That is acceptable. I buy PlayStation from Japan because they developed it for US. Not themselves. Think before you outsource your workers; will this benefit me and my company and my workers overall in 10 years. If it wont, then dont. If you truly thing it will be much better by all means do it.
Many other flaws in going to a country that is far away and doesn't speak our language besides lack in quality; they are vulnerable to simple social engineering. More on that later...
Anyhow, I will update this with more politically correct information but, you now see my view. Feel free to flame or praise me... I wont delete comments. |||109747302170074951|||My stance on India (that is, the Outsourcing there)
